Your mission at Visual Meta? As an Engineering Manager (m/f/d), you will be leading the team that handles the frontend area of our Business Journey. You will play an important role in all technical aspects of displaying our product catalog to our Customers. You and your team will implement SEO, Tracking, and Performance requirements in a green-field approach.


Your challenges and tasks 

  • Rebuilding our tech stack for the new Shopalike experience
  • Setting a high bar for operational excellence in terms of clean code, observability, scalability, and reliability
  • Identifying together with your team and your stakeholder’s technical risks
  • Building a responsive, scalable, reliable, and performant platform in a distributed architecture on top of Kubernetes (EKS)
  • To design, write & deliver software to improve the availability, scalability & efficiency of our services
  • Cultivating innovation by driving cross-collaboration & execution of projects across multiple teams
  • Leading significant productivity improvements that result in direct business opportunities for Visual Meta
  • Guiding other team members in managing end-to-end availability & performance of mission-critical services & on building automation to prevent problem recurrence
  • Monitoring team health as well as recruiting and owning the interview process


You offer 

  • Experience as a technical lead for the whole software development lifecycle, from scoping a component, conception, design, implementation, and testing through documentation, delivery, and maintenance
  • Experience in the technical design and implementation of large-scale, multi-tier software applications using a service-oriented architecture
  • You have proven experience with managing, inspiring, and growing a team of 3-5 engineers
  • You have experience with Node.js, React, and preferably with Next.js
  • You translate WHY for projects to HOW through articulating complex technical interrelations in an understandable, simple way
  • You are not dependent on libraries and frameworks but know when, where, and why you should use them
  • Self-Driven with a “getting things done” & “can do” mentality
  • Eager to learn new technologies, techniques and extend knowledge
