PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL 2022

The current shortage of skilled workers – especially in the media, creative, and digital industries of the capital region – is glaring. As an established networking association for these sectors, we organized the PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL on November 11, 2022, at the former Colosseum cinema in Berlin. The event was supported by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. The festival served as a cross-sector networking opportunity between companies, educational institutions, students, job seekers, career changers, and interested professionals.

The all-day festival was part of the "Economy Restart" program, launched by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises at the end of March 2022. PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL The event offered companies and training institutions a platform to present themselves, their open positions, and current job profiles. Whether with graduates, career changers, or young professionals – the 20 participating exhibitors were able to make direct contact with potential employees on-site. In addition to personal interaction at the exhibitor booths on the upper floor of the Kino Colosseum Berlin, various recruiting formats such as career pitching and talent matchmaking facilitated personalized job placement.

Approximately 1.300 participants attended the PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL. A total of 70 speakers and workshop leaders They highlighted current topics in the world of work, education, and training, such as New Work, leadership and corporate culture, diversity and inclusion, generational management, and future job profiles and requirements. On Stage 1 and the partner stage hosted by Tech in the City eV, as well as on two other stages, over 50 keynotes, panel talks, and workshops took place continuously. Jeannine Koch, Managing Director of medianet berlinbrandenburg eV and Michael Biel, State Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, opened the PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL. The closing panel was moderated by Jeannine Koch and Olaf Kretschmar of the Berlin Music Commission, they spoke Dr. Severin Fischer, Head of the Berlin Senate Chancellery, Dr. Stefan Franzke from Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, Andreas Gebhard, co-founder and co-managing director of re:publica, and Pamela Schobeß, CEO of Club Gretchen and chairwoman of the Clubcommission Berlin eV

Furthermore, exhibitors and partners presented further training and funding programs, such as Stackfuel and the Digital Career Institute. We were able to secure renowned and award-winning speakers for the event, including... Managing Director of Civey, Janina Mütze and Lunia Hara, Director Project Management at diconium.

Right on time at 11:11 a.m., guests enjoyed fruit-filled carnival pancakes. As befits a proper "cinema visit," there was also delicious salted caramel popcorn from the Berlin popcorn bakery Knalle. The festival day concluded in a relaxed atmosphere with a vermouth happy hour and various top-notch live acts. Iris Deco, VØR, Spoke feat. Sorah, and Jana Falcon performed.
