Supervisory Board

Medianet consistently succeeds in bringing together key figures in Berlin's creative industries and fostering vital exchange. I am delighted to now also promote contacts between the games industry and other sectors as a member of the supervisory board.

I enjoy figuring out how things work, how human relationships function and how they can be set in motion. That's what led me to medianet in 2008 when I came from Munich. medianet was the most important door that opened many others and facilitated countless personal conversations – and those are simply irreplaceable. For some time now, I've been a regular guest at medianet's supervisory board meetings, and I've now been asked if I'd be interested in getting even more involved and running for a seat on the board.

Medianet is a unique network, a voice, and an enabler for the creative industries in Berlin-Brandenburg. I contribute my experience as a founder, but above all, my vision of a diverse, appreciative, and sustainably oriented business location. Together with the supervisory board and the medianet team, we can further promote interdisciplinary exchange and, most importantly, provide inspiration and support for a constructive and creative path toward a future that harnesses the potential of this region and its people.

Berlin is an attractive location for companies in the media and creative industries, as well as for digital startups. A growing number of young talents, entrepreneurs, and investors – many of them international – are drawn to the capital. This is leading to a continuous improvement in the ecosystem, both in terms of quality and quantity, a development that medianet supports and promotes through a variety of initiatives.

I am committed to promoting the media and digital economy in Berlin as a member of the supervisory board. Medianet makes a significant contribution to the dynamism and innovation of the startup and media sectors. It offers a platform for exchange and cooperation, enabling the creation of synergies and the pursuit of shared goals. On the supervisory board, I contribute my experience in startup incubation and digital innovation. My aim is to build bridges between traditional media companies and agile technology startups.

Since 2013, I have been President of the largest and oldest film school in Germany, and the only one with university status. Prior to that, I worked for many years as a managing director in the film industry. Incredibly, the Film University has been a member of medianet since 2007, which provides us with many valuable contacts and high-caliber events – it is THE network in our region. I bring extensive connections and considerable experience in the film industry to the Supervisory Board, as well as perspectives on education and professional development, close ties to students, and political experience.

I've been with Studio Babelsberg for 18 years, where, as a member of the management team, I oversee studio operations and am responsible for client relations. We've been a member of medianet since 2005, something we're very proud of. Through medianet, we've already established numerous partnerships and collaborations. The fantastic events effectively bring together decision-makers in the creative industries. Babelsberg will always be a place where creative people with innovative projects meet, across all sectors of film, media, and digital. It's particularly important to me personally to connect these people so that great projects can emerge. That's why medianet is the best platform for this exchange.

New media professionals, in particular, are drawn to the creative atmosphere of the capital region. They benefit from the networking opportunities offered by medianet, which, since its founding over 10 years ago, has become the leading platform for companies in the media, film, and communications industries in Berlin and Brandenburg. Our goal is to leverage synergies and develop concrete business strategies.
