„Heroes in new Dimensions“ is the theme of this year’s gamescom. Regarding the theme, the video- and games industry is heading towards a new dimension, which is shown by new trends as virtual reality, eSports and „the player as the designer“. In Berlin-Brandenburg the very same trends are also pushed forward and new developments are implanted in an early stage. With it’s 1.500 companys, the games industry of the capital region posts the strongest growth nationwide and counts, beside the web industry, as the biggest revenue driver within Berlin’s media industry. No other location has such a diverse and densely infrastructure of games companies.

The business network games.net berlinbrandenburg presents the video game localization specialist Altagram, the data app provider App Annie, the cash payment solution Barzahlen, the independent game studio Bearhands, gamebook technology developer Experimental Game, the mobile game publisher GAMEVIL, the non-profit organisation Gaming-Aid e.V., the game developer platform simplaex, the market leader for multimedia software MAGIX, the full service agency Mothership, the gamification company Serious Games Solutions and the internet provider velia.net. The partners of the booth, Berlin Partner, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg, are presenting themselves together under the umbrella brand Games Capital Berlin-Brandenburg. The booth is supported by Exozet and velia.net and is co-financed by funds from the European Fund for Regional Developement.

Opportunities for networking and meeting old and new contacts are provided by two receptions on the first and second day:

The well-known Berlin-Brandenburg Get-Together on 17th August from 5-7 pm offers currywurst and beer to the about 300 expected guests. On 18th August the initiative BerlinBalticNordic.net invites to a gamescom reception with baltic and nordic delicacies and cold beverages.
