Estonia has a thriving independent Production sector. In 2016 the Estonian Film Institute introduced an incentive which aims to encourage more co-operation between local and foreign film producers to shoot films in Estonia. A cash rebate of up to a max 30% of expenses on qualifying expenditure can be applied to full-length feature films, high-end TV series, animation and animation series, documentaries and post-production services.
