After a warm introduction by Jeannine Koch, CEO of medianet berlinbrandenburg, Dr. Severin Fischer, Chief of the Berlin Senate Chancellery, welcomed all guests to the matchmaking dinner. He highlighted the importance of the games industry for Berlin and the commitment that Berlin’s new government and Governing Mayor, Franziska Giffey, has planned for the new legislative period. He thanked medianet for bringing together the industry through their network and events.

Jeannine Koch took over once more to thank the co-host and after party show sponsor Xsolla, who have settled with their European headquarters in Berlin recently. She went on to thank Dr. Fischer for opening the event and welcoming all guests from Berlin and beyond to the first large games event of the year, also highlighting the importance of active member companies in a networking association as medianet.

To round out the official opening, Vanessa Zeuch and Joscha Neumann of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg presented insights into games projects and events from their funding portfolio and highlighted the record year for their new media funding that was 2021.

In the classic fashion of our games:net matchmaking efforts, half of the guests were invited to switch tables after the first course so we could give everyone the opportunity to engage in interesting and productive conversations.

After the dinner itself the guests had the chance to further strengthen connections and matches made during the evening with drinks and a late night snack, plus fun activities like speed portrays and a photo wall, all at our official After Party, hosted by Xsolla!
